Advancing social innovation and entrepreneurship for transformational change

At a time when policy makers are pooling efforts to restore growth and overcome the global economic and financial crisis, specific attention has been focused on innovative entrepreneurship, as it can play an important role in contributing to economic growth, job creation and poverty reduction, and can help address key social challenges.

INNOVATION IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEFINED

Innovation and entrepreneurship are essential ingredients in building a successful commercial venture. The ways in which these two concepts fuel enterprise are something our faculty never stop exploring.

We explore the unique perspectives on innovation and entrepreneurship, and Online Courses on Innovative Entrepreneurship helps to cultivate a pioneering business spirit that makes full use of both.

The definition of innovative entrepreneurship used here is not synonymous with either small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or business start-ups but is derived from the intersection of three areas:

  • innovative businesses
  • young and high-growth businesses
  • SMEs

“Without change, there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable”

– William Pollard

The purpose of innovation is to continuously grow and renew an enterprise with new or better products, more efficient processes, or enhanced business models.

Our POOL of ENTREPRENEUR ADVISERS

The MBM Entrepreneur Center`s Pool of advisers is combination of Mentors, Service Providers and Program Experts who deliver a knowledge and an experience base that is difficult to afford in new ventures.

Our MENTORS are constructive facilitators, who are rather provoking thinking and active participation of our clients in finding the proper entrepreneurial solutions, rather than imposing ready-made concepts and ideas for development.

Corporate or startup experience in building a venture is key and required to be an MBM EC Mentor. Their engagement with an entrepreneur can be long or short, but the Mentor's relevant experience positions them to best guide the creation and launch portion of an early stage venture's development.

Our SERVICE PROVIDERS deliver specialised expertise and offer a participatory learning process, usually in a defined time-frame. The services are tailored to the specific need of each client, such as legal contracts, brand development and outsourced technology services. Our Service Providers may eventually be referred to serve in the Mentor role, when applicable.

OurPROGRAM EXPERTS  are advisers identified for specific accelerator programs.

These ICTIDC experts bring years of experience in a particular industry vertical associated with the accelerator. They serve during the term of the accelerator. Depending on their level of involvement with a particular project, our program experts may be considered to join an accelerator participant's advisory board.
